A dense, glossy carrier pressed from castor seeds—organic, cold-pressed and bottled at source in India. Its slow, cushiony glide makes a beautiful base for oil-cleansing balms, scalp and hair rituals, salves and lash-brow* oils (see safety). Blend with lighter carriers for slip without greasiness.

Colour & aroma: clear to pale golden; neutral to faint, fatty note

Texture/absorption: very thick, tacky; slow-absorbing, high gloss

Shelf life: ~1 year (store cool, dark & tightly capped)

How to use

Hair/scalp oiling: blend 10–50% with lighter oils (grapeseed, almond, jojoba); massage, then shampoo out.

Oil-cleansing/balms: 10–30% for body; adjust to texture.

Lash/brow oils:* use very sparingly in a well-diluted blend (e.g., 5–10% castor in jojoba) and keep well away from eyes.

Add a touch of vitamin E or wheatgerm to help slow oxidation in DIY blends.
